This weekend is wrapping up and so is this challenge. It’s been quite a ride and I am so glad you came along on this ride with me. Sharing a small sample of what I’m thankful for really gave me an opportunity to reflect on what’s truly important to me. This exercise was inclusive of, but not limited to all the stuff I listed. I am thankful for so much more and I’m ALWAYS thankful.
These last few days put things into perspective even more. As I looked around the table I saw each person present as a true treasure in my life. I’ve always seen them this way, but the feeling in my heart was one of appreciation, admiration, gratefulness, and love all mixed into one.
We don’t need a month or a day to reflect. We should ALWAYS be thankful for what we have because when we realize how truly blessed we are, it takes the focus off of what we don’t have. I always try to remember that things could be A LOT worse. Life is good and we should remember this lesson: my neighbor once told me that he thought his family and mine were rich; to which I said, “No way!” He explained it like this: we may not be rich in money but in possessions and other non-material possessions, we are truly rich. Having someone put it in this perspective made me realize just how rich I truly am. I feel very fortunate and I never forgot that discussion.
So thanks again for sharing this experience with me. I appreciate it!
XOXOXOXO,
